founder of eidersound. , j.r is and has been doing chilled out music for years. His unique style, offset programming, and use of vintage drum machines/synths is what sets him apart from other musicians to this day.

Bobby is the first EP and hopefully not the last by the French producer known as ECHO. A real classic synth record with great grooves and lovely melodies.

I grew up in a home where MTV (when it was actually good) was cut off, due to my parents fear of exposing me to those “elements” of a secular lifestyle. Like many stories similar to mine, the restraint rendered immense ambition towards discovering what my life was missing. As years progressed, and as my fathers health continued to aile, the barriers slowly started to break down and my interest in music progressed. Instead of hiding tapes from my parents, I was able to fully expose myself and be free. My fathers passing into heaven gave birth to the person that types this message to you now. Following my short lived grunge and punk era (elementary school…..) My sister handed me my first hip hop cd, and it was Tribe’s Low End Theory. I played this album over and over, with no knowledge of The Ummah, nor any comprehension of the depths of The Zulu Nation and what it meant to be an MC out of NYC. Further down the road, following the East West beef and the whole Slim Shady infatuation, it wasn’t until college that my passion for this culture blossomed. There is only one person that I will EVER give credit to when it comes to my discovery for this passion (you know who you are…) It is this person, along with another brother of ours, (you know who you are too beesh) that I continue to grow with, and it is these two gentlemen that I continue to look toward for inspiration. This was the birth of my beats, rhymes and life, and the never-ending era of learning and evolving. I am forever a student of the great teachers that did it before me, and fuck what the haters say… I am forever a surrogate for where the spirit guides me.
